5 Jalan Dr Krishnan, 70000 Seremban, Negeri Sembilan
Known for many years as YWCA Seremban, this association recently set its sights on the rest of the southern state – hence the change of name to YWCA Negeri Sembilan.
Members meet for talks, seminars and social events. For 3 months, they undertook a project with the Vianashini Home which houses Down-syndrome adults. Their task: to teach them to sing the National Anthem, ‘Negaraku’. On Merdeka (Independence) Day, a High Tea was organised and at the start of the event, the ‘Negaraku’ was sung with each of the house-mates holding the National Flag and singing with the volunteers. It was indeed a beautiful experience.
YWCA Negeri Sembilan works closely with the National Council of Women’s Organisations at state level, and is in the midst of establishing a Club in Port Dickson.
