YWCA of Klang & Port Klang’s principal project is the Pusat Kasih Sayang, a home for intellectually impaired women and girls from 7 to 62 years of age. At the centre residents are taught living skills, some educational lessons and participate in many activities organised by volunteers and other NGOs. These enable them to interact successfully with others. A sheltered workshop provides occupational therapy for the residents. This helps them improve their coordination and learn discipline. Members are actively involved in activities to raise funds to buy their own property.
