YWCA PENANG is situated on the same road as the State Mosque, the largest mosque in Penang and a photographer’s dream. It is in Georgetown, the heart of the island, yet far away enough from the city bustle.

Rooms and Rates
Once dedicated as a peace site, the YWCA hostel provides affordable, clean and homely accommodation exclusively for women and girls… but don’t forget to make a booking. The hostel only has 5 single rooms, 5 double rooms and a 4-bedded dormitory, while there are 6 Annexe units with attached bathrooms. There is a large car parking area around the building.

Residents and guests are welcome to bring their own bed sheets and pillowcases.

	By taxi : Most city taxis do not use the meter. You may either insist on the meter being turned on or agree on the price before you move off. Taxis normally charge between RM3.00 – RM6.00 for short distances within the city.

	By trishaw : Beside the novelty of traveling in the open-fronted three-wheeled vehicle, trishaws allow visitors the opportunity to enjoy the sights in Penang at a leisurely pace. One can also stop at any point to snap pictures or buy souvenirs. There is no standard fare and it would be wise to agree on the price before you get on the trishaw. For extended sightseeing, it is advisable to hire them by the hour.
